Frequently Asked Questions

What is home healthcare?

Home healthcare is designed to help patients recover in the comfort of their homes through skilled nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapy. Home health is ordered through a qualified health care provider if they determine the condition requires the patient to remain in the home for rehabilitation, recovery from illness, injury, surgery or hospitalization, or are managing a chronic condition.

Who qualifies for home healthcare?

Home healthcare is available to individuals who have a medical need for skilled services and face challenges leaving their home without significant effort. Eligibility is determined based on physician recommendations and Medicare or insurance guidelines.

How can a provider refer a patient to Pinnacle Home Care?

Referrals can be submitted by physicians, hospitals, or healthcare providers via fax, phone, or through our online referral portal. Contact us at (813) 814-6000 for more details on the referral process.

What areas do you serve?

Pinnacle Home Care provides services across the state of Florida.

What is the difference between home healthcare and home health aid?

Home healthcare involves medical services provided by licensed professionals, such as nurses and therapists, under a physician’s order. Home health aid, often referred to as non-medical care or personal home care, includes assistance with daily living activities but does not require a skilled medical provider.

How do I start home healthcare services?

To begin services, a physician must determine that home healthcare is necessary and provide a referral. Our team works closely with physicians and referring providers to facilitate the process.

What types of insurance do you accept?

Pinnacle Home Care accepts Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, and most private insurance plans. Our team will verify coverage and assist with any questions regarding benefits.

What services does Pinnacle provide?

We offer a wide range of skilled healthcare services.

Can family members be involved in my care?

Yes! We encourage family involvement in your care plan. Our team will provide education and training to help family members support your recovery and well-being.

Will I have the same clinician for every visit?

We strive to provide continuity of care by keeping the same clinicians whenever possible. However, scheduling needs and patient requirements may result in occasional changes.

How often will my clinician visit?

The frequency of visits is determined by your care plan, which is developed in collaboration with your physician. Most patients receive visits multiple times a week based on their needs.

Can I receive home health services if I have a caregiver?

Yes. Home health services are designed to complement the care provided by family members or caregivers. Our team works alongside your support system to enhance your recovery and overall well-being.

How do I prepare for my first visit?

A Pinnacle Home Care employee will contact you to schedule your initial visit. Please have your medications, medical history, and any relevant documents available so that we can be as efficient as possible with your time.

Can I continue seeing my primary care physician?

Yes! Home healthcare services work in coordination with your primary care physician, who remains involved in your treatment and care plan adjustments.

How long does home healthcare last?

The duration of care varies based on each patient’s condition and progress. Your physician and care team will regularly evaluate your needs to determine the appropriate length of service. Once your physician determines that home healthcare is no longer necessary, we will discharge you from our services and provide guidance on maintaining your health and independence.
